Les Bacchantes Toulouse is a moustache-themed run in Toulouse, held in November from Port Viguerie near the Garonne. Runners are encouraged to grow or wear a moustache, but the cause is serious, with entries helping fund prostate cancer research, prevention, and awareness. The main option is an 8 km road race open to both licensed and non-licensed runners, and there is also a 4 km walk for those who want the same event without racing.
The 8 km route starts on Rue Viguerie and uses two fast loops along the quays, crossing between the right and left banks of the Garonne with views back toward Toulouse's historic center. Some people use the flat riverside course to chase a time, while others treat it as a social run in costume. After the finish, the Buffet des Bacchantes gives runners a place to compare races with friends, colleagues, and strangers who have just done the same moustached lap of the city.
