About this race
Les Bosses Wihérisiennes begins at Place du Jeu de Balle in Wihéries, located in Belgium's Dour region. This small morning race, organized by SLC Dour, features a walking start at 09:30 and jogging races at 10:00. Participants can select either a 10.9 km or a 5.4 km course, offering a choice between a short, hilly run or a more demanding longer effort, distinct from a flat road race.
The name accurately reflects the terrain: "bosses" translates to bumps, and the course incorporates the local topography. The route is primarily asphalt, with approximately one-quarter on forest paths. The climbing is concentrated, totaling 114 m for the 10.9 km route and 90 m for the 5.4 km route. The event is open to all levels from age 15, or younger runners with parental consent, and handisport participants are welcomed. Support includes two aid stations on the course, one at the finish, changing facilities, nearby street parking, chip timing, and an awards ceremony at noon requiring prize recipients to be present.
