About this race
Les Foulées des Portes du Maine is a multi-race running day in Souligné-sous-Ballon, a village in the Sarthe department of Pays de la Loire. It is run in April and centers on the Salle des Fêtes on rue Saint Martin, with distances from a 250 m children’s dash to a 10 km race. The program includes a 3.5 km duo race where partners must start together and finish together, plus separate 5 km and 10 km races.
The event is built for families as much as regular runners: very young children get the free 250 m descente des bambins, poussins have a free 1500 m non-ranked walk/run, and benjamins have a free 1500 m ranked race. Adapted-sport participants are welcome across the events. A cumulative ambassadors’ trophy ranks runners across the duo, 5 km, and 10 km races, while prizes for all participants and a tombola give the day a village-race feel. The series is well established, with more than two dozen editions behind it.
