About this race
Les Foulées du Patrimoine is a Spring Fair race day in Pont-Saint-Esprit, beginning at the Fontaine du Coq and winding through the town’s old streets and monuments. The program includes running, walking, and mountain biking: a timed 10 km run with 80 m elevation gain, a timed 5 km run with 20 m elevation gain, a non-timed 10 km walk for accompanied minors aged 10 and up, and a timed VTT event on a 5 km loop. The 10 km walk begins in the morning, followed by the 10 km run, with the bike loops concluding the afternoon. Timed runners require a licence or a PPS, and participants should bring an Eco-cup for drinks.
The routes traverse Pont-Saint-Esprit itself: streets, stairs, rolling sections, and technical passages connect sites like the Collégiale and the Prieuré. The VTT race is distinctive, with riders completing a 5 km urban loop multiple times over three hours. Each lap is timed, and standard trail obstacles are replaced by stairs, pavements, sharp turns, pipes, and passages through landmarks including the Town Hall, Collégiale, and Prieuré. Organized by Frontales et Boussoles with the municipality, the event's heritage focus is functional and aesthetic: proceeds aid restoration work in Pont-Saint-Esprit, with previous funds contributing to the Borne fountain's repair and a portion of profits allocated to another local monument.
