About this race

The Luchon Aneto Trail begins and ends in Bagnères-de-Luchon, a spa town in Haute-Garonne in the French Pyrenees, held in early July. It is a mountain trail festival with distances ranging from 10 km to 85 km, including 21 km, marathon-length, 45 km, and 65 km options. The event also features a night race, allowing runners to select from a shorter mountain outing to a long day in high terrain. The routes traverse the Luchon mountain area, where six valleys converge around Bagnères-de-Luchon, with over fifteen nearby peaks exceeding 3,000 meters. This is not gentle terrain: the organizers characterize the course as having significant climbs and no flat sections, with participants reaching approximately 2,000 meters and passing lakes and ponds in an alpine environment. Aid stations are situated roughly every 15 km, and the race village offers local products, music, and food post-race. Luchon, known as the “Queen of the Pyrenees,” provides the backdrop for this race, which embraces its setting with a welcoming local atmosphere and UTMB Index support for runners seeking qualifying points.
