About this race
Lyrican'trail is a forest trail-running event held in Larchant, Seine-et-Marne, bordering the Fontainebleau forest. Typically set for early October, it includes short junior races and adult trail distances of approximately 12 km and 23 km. Organized by the trail section of Larchant Animation, a local association, the event has the feel of a compact village gathering rather than a large urban race. Both main distances attract over 200 participants, ensuring lively fields without causing congestion on the trails.
The adult races feature single-loop courses within the Larchant forest, entirely off-road. The shorter loop involves about 520 metres of climbing, and the longer loop approximately 1,020 metres, a significant amount for these distances. Runners navigate a mix of narrow singletrack and wider hiking paths, making the race a test of managing repeated ascents, footing, and rhythm rather than maintaining a steady pace. Aid stations are available on the course and at the finish, every participant receives a gift, and the top three men and women in each race receive prizes.
