The Marathon du Grésivaudan begins in Le Versoud, a town in Isère within the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. This race series focuses on nature and offers three distances: a 13 km trail for those new to this type of event, a 21 km route for a middle-distance challenge, and a full 42.195 km marathon for the most competitive participants.
The 13 km race is designed to showcase the local countryside. The half-marathon route incorporates forest paths and scenic overlooks. The marathon delves further into the natural landscape of the Grésivaudan area, featuring lakes and ponds along its course. The event accommodates various runner levels because of the progressive distances from introductory to marathon, and course maps and GPX files are provided for participants who wish to examine the terrain beforehand.
