Marathon Vert Rennes School of Business 2026

The Marathon Vert de Rennes is a 42.195 km road race in and around Rennes, Brittany, held annually since 2011. Its environmental commitment is directly tied to the race: each kilometre completed results in one tree planted, with organizers reporting over 1.3 million trees planted since the event's inception. Participants can run the main marathon individually, in pairs, or as relay teams. The event also features a 10 km race, a women-only 5 km, night races, and a family walk. The current marathon course is primarily within Rennes, following a swift, FFA-sanctioned double loop along the Ille and Vilaine canals, concluding in the city center on the Esplanade du Général de Gaulle. Previous editions commenced at Cap Malo and traversed roads through the northern Rennes Métropole communes before reaching the city. The race has hosted the French Marathon Championships, and its inaugural event was sponsored by Haile Gebrselassie. Student and corporate challenges engage teams, while pacemakers, aid stations, on-route music, plogging sessions, and galette saucisse at the village contribute to the weekend's local character beyond the marathon itself.
