Mémo Run 66 is a charity running and walking event in Perpignan, centered on the concept of “running against forgetting.” It takes place in September, near World Alzheimer’s Day, to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and collect funds for patient and caregiver support in the Pyrénées-Orientales. The event offers adults a 5 km or 10 km run, a 5 km walk, and children’s races of 600 m and 1.4 km, allowing families and non-runners to participate in the same cause.
The route begins at Place du Castillet and concludes at the Esplanade du souvenir français, opposite the Palais des Congrès. Although the event is relatively new, its prior edition attracted approximately 500 participants, suggesting a community-focused race rather than a large commercial event. Its most significant aspect is its purpose: all proceeds support practical initiatives for individuals with Alzheimer’s or related conditions and their caregivers.
