The Pamina Triathlon is a cross-border event held in Lauterbourg, Bas-Rhin, northeastern France, typically in September. The XS distance begins with a 350 m swim in Lauterbourg lake, followed by a 10 km bike course that enters Germany and returns to France, concluding with a 2.5 km run. The S distance covers the same routes twice, doubling the distances, and can be completed individually or as a relay.
The event is organized by the Bas-Rhin Departmental Triathlon Committee in conjunction with triathlon federations from Baden-Wuerttemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate, reflecting the race's Franco-German nature. It is open to adults, regardless of whether they hold a triathlon license or have prior experience. Younger participants may also compete if they meet the age requirements for the XS or S distances. The event is designed for athletes from Alsace, Baden, and the Palatinate to race on the same day, rather than exclusively for specialists.
