Raid de l'Archipel is a two-person adventure raid in Agde, Hérault, starting in the morning during spring or September. Teams navigate approximately 40 km over four stages: 4 km of kayaking, 11 km of running, 6 km of foot orienteering, and 20 km of bike orienteering. This is an adult event limited to 100 teams, positioned within the French “Sport Nature” category, distinct from traditional road racing.
The race requires pairs to move and make decisions collaboratively, rather than simply following a marked course. The route remains open to traffic, necessitating self-sufficiency and alertness from competitors, alongside respect for the local environment. Kayak equipment is provided, but participants must supply their own bike and helmet; compasses are neither provided nor mandatory. This event marks its 13th edition, emphasizing values of fair play, solidarity, team cohesion, tactical thinking, keen observation, and effort.
