Raid ESSEC EY is a pairs-based nature raid in Cergy, Val-d'Oise, near Paris, held in early April. Since 2012, the Raid ESSEC student association from ESSEC Business School has organized this event, offering teams route choices over one or two days. Formats cater to students, regular raid racers, experienced athletes, amateurs, and handisport participants.
The route is largely marked, reducing the need for constant navigation, but orienteering sections require teams to read the terrain and make decisions. Mountain biking constitutes about two-thirds of the course, with trail running, Run&Bike, kayaking, orienteering, and other challenges making up the remainder. Past editions have featured a night race and distances around 38 and 75 kilometers. The event emphasizes team spirit alongside speed, utilizing the lakes, paths, and green spaces of Val-d'Oise instead of a traditional road race format.
