Raid INSA Lyon Orange is a three-day team raid based around Boëge in Haute-Savoie, with teams of four moving through a mix of outdoor sports. It is organized by volunteer students from the INSA Lyon Student Bureau, giving the event a strong student-run feel rather than the tone of a standard road race. The field is usually around 220 participants, and the format is open both to experienced athletes and beginners ready for a full weekend outside.
The program can include trail running, mountain biking, run & bike, orienteering, canoeing, archery, and team challenges, with the Chablais region south of Lake Geneva used as the outdoor playground. Companies are also invited, partly as a way to meet INSA Lyon students outside the usual campus setting. The race is as much about teamwork and exchange as pure speed, with the changing mix of disciplines making navigation, endurance, and group management matter across the three days.
