Ronde de Tartous - Monchy-Breton 2027

WED, January 27, 2027 · Monchy-Breton , France

About this race

The Ronde de Tartous - Monchy-Breton is a small cyclocross race with one specific twist: the route passes through the Tartous & Cie bar in Monchy-Breton. It is part of the Coupe du monde de cyclo-cross de bistrot, a humorous "World Cup" centered on pub cyclocross, and it begins the new year for the local participants. Riders use mountain bikes or cyclocross bikes, and the limited spots, about sixty, sell out quickly, often in under an hour. The course combines some paved sections with rougher local ground, featuring an abandoned farm to ride through and a muddy field set up for cyclocross. The morning qualifying heats require riders to complete as many laps as possible in twelve minutes, making the racing brief, chaotic, and easy for spectators to watch. Music, live commentary, and an enthusiastic crowd are present, with Jean-Paul Chaine and Patrick Chapatte introducing riders and calling the heats.
