Ronde Des Filles - Puy-saint-martin is a women-only five-kilometer event for participants aged 16 and over, with a choice of running or walking. It has been held since 2008, built around solidarity rather than competition: there are no rankings and no timing, so everyone can move at her own pace.
The start is in front of the Brives-Charensac Canoe House, near the Chartreuse Bridge, by the Loire. The field grew from 437 participants in its first edition to about 2,500 in a later edition. All profits go to the League Against Cancer, with past donations rising from 1,500 euros at the beginning to 18,000 euros. The event also shares information about breast cancer, and its organizers use the day to connect sport with cancer prevention.
