Sennecey-le-Grand hosts a small community race day featuring two adult races and two children's races. Children can compete in 1 km or 2 km events, while adults select between 5 km and 10 km distances. The adult races begin simultaneously in the afternoon. Registration is intentionally straightforward and inexpensive, with the entry fee corresponding to the race distance: 1 euro for 1 km, 2 euros for 2 km, 5 euros for 5 km, and 10 euros for 10 km. The races welcome all participants, regardless of whether they are affiliated with a running club.
The event, now in its fourth year, emphasizes local involvement over large-scale fanfare. Every runner receives a gift upon bib collection. The top three finishers in each race are awarded prizes. Additionally, 5 km and 10 km participants are eligible for a bib draw featuring six substantial prizes. A team challenge recognizes the association, company, club, or group with the most participants, and a special award is given for the best costume. Upon finishing, NETTO offers refreshments to all participants. Local traders and artisans manage the on-site bar and snack stand.
