About this race
Saint-Jean by Night is a night running event held in Saint-Jean-sur-Veyle, located in France's Ain region. It offers three race distances: 6 km, 12 km, and 16 km. The 16 km race begins at 9:00 PM, with the 6 km starting at 9:15 PM and the 12 km at 9:30 PM, structuring the event around running after dark. ACS Saint-Jean-sur-Veyle organizes this, marking its ninth year.
The courses traverse a combination of small roads and narrow paths surrounding Saint-Jean-sur-Veyle, featuring moderate elevation gains: 56 meters for the 6 km, 118 meters for the 12 km, and 145 meters for the 16 km. Both the 6 km and 12 km races commence and conclude at the L'ESCALE multi-sport hall. The 12 km route is altered each year. Participants receive aid stations and changing facilities, and the organizers emphasize the nocturnal ambiance with headlamps and moving lights contributing to the atmosphere.
