About this race
The Schneider Electric Foulées d'Angoulême is a road race held in Angoulême, a city in the Charente region situated on a bend in the river. First run in 2007 and organized by Grand Angoulême Athlétisme, the event now attracts over 3,000 participants for a 10 km national race, a 5 km race, and children's races. The inaugural event had 450 runners completing three laps of the St Cybard neighborhood.
The current course begins at Stade Chanzy and proceeds through the city center, deviating from earlier routes through rural areas. Participants will see Angoulême landmarks such as the cathedral and the comic strip museum. The race's local character is enhanced by its passage through busy squares and central streets. The course is noted for being fast, making it suitable for runners aiming for personal bests, while also accommodating club runners, families, and casual participants. The race day includes musical entertainment, bag check, shuttle services, and recovery support from kinesiologists and osteopaths.
