The Semi-Marathon des Lions begins and ends at Parc des Bords-de-Seine in Rueil-Malmaison, west of Paris in Hauts-de-Seine. This annual road event takes place around mid-April, offering a 10 km race and a half marathon of 21.0975 km. The 10 km race starts earlier in the morning, with the half marathon following, allowing participants to select either a shorter city run or a full half-marathon along the Seine.
The route follows the Seine's banks, combining town streets with a greener riverside environment, suitable for marathon preparation or racing with companions. Over 3,000 runners participate annually, creating a strong local atmosphere rather than a small club feel. The Lions Club of Rueil-Malmaison organizes this as a charity race, with all profits directed to solidarity projects, often supporting handisport groups and Lions Club initiatives like diabetes, vision, hunger relief, the environment, and childhood cancer.
