About this race
Les Sentiers de l'Espoir begins at the stadium in Reyrevignes, a small village in the Lot, and takes place each October with trail races and hikes to support the fight against cancer. The association Reyrevignes Marcher et Courir Contre le Cancer organizes the event, offering two race distances: a 12 km short race with 150 m of elevation gain and a 21 km long race with 280 m of elevation gain. Hikers can choose from 7, 11, or 18 km routes, catering to both runners seeking a timed competition and locals desiring a more relaxed walk.
The races are included in the CDA 46 challenge, attracting regional runners, while the hikes contribute to a wider community event atmosphere. The walking routes feature refreshment stations, and all finishers receive a local gourmet plate. The event debuted in 2017, and recent participation has exceeded 800 people. Funds raised benefit the Ligue contre le cancer du Lot: half supports research at the Oncopole in Toulouse, and the remainder assists patient care in the Figeacois region. Since its inception, the organizing association has donated 40,000 euros.
