About this race
Ski2bike sends racers downhill from the Arpette summit above Les Arcs to Bourg-Saint-Maurice, switching from skis to mountain bikes partway down. This spring relay is built around the handover from winter to summer sport: teams of two split the job between a skier and a VTT rider, while solo racers do both legs themselves. The race is capped at 100 two-person teams and 50 individuals, with men’s, women’s, and mixed team categories.
The course drops 1,600 metres, starts at 2,413 metres, and uses Arc 1600 as the relay point between the ski and bike sections. Racers can inspect and train on the route before the event, then skiers line up for a mass start after the pistes close, in the style of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The format fits Les Arcs because the resort has both a large ski area and a summer mountain bike network, so the race turns the seasonal changeover into one fast descent.
