About this race
The TBZ Trail de Baziège Survivor begins at the Zoo of Baziège, situated above the village, with participants reaching the start on foot. This January trail survivor race features a single loop completed by all participants. Starts are staggered at the top of each hour, and a runner must complete the loop in under an hour to qualify for the subsequent start.
The primary loop covers 8.2 km with 120 meters of elevation gain. A 2 km option is also available. Runners participate in semi-autonomy, carrying their own provisions. However, fruit, chocolate, water, cola, hot soup, and bag access are provided at the end of each loop. Participants who withdraw or miss the time limit return their timing chip. They then use their bib and reusable cup to collect food and drink, either on-site or to take away. AGVB organizes the race, which has been held for at least three editions. The survivor format concludes when all runners are eliminated or when the organizers halt the event at 6 a.m. on Sunday.
