About this race
The TOP Prixtel Porquerolles Trail is a 25 km race on Porquerolles, the small island of Hyères in the Var region, held in early October. Since 2019, the race has exclusively been run in pairs: two runners begin together, complete the entire course side-by-side, and cross the finish line as a unit, without any relay exchanges. This format is well-suited for couples, family members, colleagues, and friends seeking a shared challenge rather than an individual time trial.
The course crosses Port-Cros National Park, utilizing the island's protected Mediterranean landscape, including vineyards, forest paths, cliff edges, coastal vistas, and sections near the shore. It is not simply a leisurely island run; the terrain is technical with some demanding ascents. The organizers, Association Top Oxygene, prioritize camaraderie and shared experiences over individual achievement, limiting the event to 150 teams. Environmental considerations are also integral to the race: aid stations provide no cups, and a portion of the registration fees supports 1% For The Planet.
