Toulon's running scene hugs the Mediterranean coast and the hills immediately inland — flat seaside routes contrast sharply with steep climbs into the Massif des Maures starting 10km north. Cyclists dominate here: the Sejour Handi Ccf La Farlede (100km) and CHCV La Crau (76km) are the backbone local events, both threading through the Var's rolling terrain and scrubland between sea-level Toulon and the 400–600m ridges. The climate stays warm year-round, making winter training reliable, though summer heat and mistral wind shape training windows.
