About this race
The Trail de Bussy-la-Pesle begins in the courtyard of the castle in Bussy-la-Pesle, a village in Côte-d’Or, France. This April event offers trail running and walking routes from 8.5 km to 23 km, alongside children’s races. The primary race, Le calvaire de Joséphine, covers 23 km with 850 m of elevation gain. The intermediate option, Le passage du bateau, is 14.5 km with 600 m of gain, and La balade des chevreuils is 8.5 km with 250 m. Walkers have untimed 8.5 km or 14.5 km options with comparable elevation.
The routes primarily follow forest paths, incorporating some paved sections and sufficient elevation to provide a genuine trail experience even on the shorter distances. All participants receive aid at 6 km and the finish line. The longer trail includes additional aid stations at 8.5 km and 15.5 km. Runners and walkers will also pass near the village and its castle, which serves as the starting point and bib collection location. A recent edition saw just over 300 participants, and the event provides live GPS tracking for friends to follow participants.
