The Trail de Gaudissart begins at the old school in Pélasque, a village within the Lantosque commune of the Alpes-Maritimes. This mid-April trail race offers one primary distance: a 14 km loop featuring approximately 800 to 850 metres of elevation gain. It is short enough for many participants yet steep enough to provide a genuine mountain experience. The Comité des Fêtes de Pélasque organizes the event, which commences in the morning with bib collection in the old school courtyard prior to the start.
The route follows tracks and trails surrounding Lantosque, with aid stations providing solid and liquid refreshments at kilometre 9 and again at the finish line. Participants are required to carry a cup or bottle, a functioning mobile phone, a survival blanket, and a minimum of half a litre of water, indicating the organizers' approach to it as a serious trail event. The race is open to licensed and non-licensed runners from the junior category upwards, with parental consent necessary for minors. It also contributes to the Challenge Trail Allianz Vésubie-Tinée and the Challenge Spiridon Côte d’Azur. A meal is provided for runners and their companions at the finish, traditionally featuring gnocchi with pistou sauce, cheese, bread, and a beverage.
