About this race

Trail de Grésigne begins in Puycelsi, a fortified hilltop village overlooking the Vère Valley in the Tarn region of Occitanie. This late-June trail running event centers on the Forêt domaniale de Grésigne, offering three race distances: 13 km, 26 km, and 44 km. Significant elevation gain is present even on the shortest course, with approximately 600 metres for the 13 km, 1,150 metres for the 26 km, and 2,030 metres for the 44 km. The 13 km distance is the most popular, and recent participation numbers for the shorter and middle races have been in the low hundreds, not comparable to large urban events. The courses traverse forest-edge paths, single-track trails, village lanes, and the steep terrain surrounding Puycelsi. The 44 km race, also referred to as the Trail des Maquisards in some descriptions, extends into the Grésigne forest and passes through Larroque. The 26 km route, the Trail des Verriers, begins along the woodland's edge and runs beneath Puycelsi's ramparts before also heading towards Larroque. The 13 km Trail des Charbonniers consists mainly of single-track sections, featuring repeated climbs and technical terrain rather than easy running. Additionally, a 10 km hike departs from the medieval village near the fortified gate, concluding back in Puycelsi after a loop through the forest.
