About this race
The Trail de l'Anjou at Le Plessis-Macé guides runners through the grounds of the Château du Plessis-Macé, in Maine-et-Loire, with headlamps as the race proceeds into the evening. The primary event is a 12 km semi-night trail featuring 70 m of elevation gain, alongside a free 1.5 km family race for up to fifty child-adult pairs.
The 12 km course crosses private paths, inaccessible to the public throughout the rest of the year, connecting the run with the château's environment and local heritage, such as the Château de la Goujonnaie. Participants are required to carry a minimum of 500 ml of water and a headlamp. A hydration stop is situated around the 8 km mark, with a snack provided at the finish. The event originated from an idea by Hugo Passedroit, a young local, and receives backing from the Department and Anjou Terre d'Athlétisme, including cultural activities scheduled around the races.
