About this race

Trail de l'Inuit takes place in January in Pralognan-la-Vanoise, a Savoie mountain village situated at 1,410 meters in the Vanoise massif. This event is a winter night run on snow, offering two trail distances: 7.5 km and 15 km. The shorter race begins before full darkness, making it semi-nocturnal, while the 15 km race runs entirely after dark. A 7.5 km snowshoe option is also available for those seeking the same winter environment at a walking pace. The course winds through forests, meadows, and the Nordic area of the Chaviere valley, beneath the high peaks surrounding Pralognan. The 15 km route features 500 meters of elevation gain, presenting a short but challenging course. A headlamp is mandatory, and participants should expect cold conditions, typically ranging from approximately 1°C to -8°C. This race is ideal for runners desiring a concise mountain trail experience with snow, darkness, and an authentic alpine atmosphere, rather than an extended ultra-distance event.
