About this race
Trail de la Galette is a small trail event in Labastide-de-Virac, France, starting and finishing at the village wine cellar. The program includes two main races: a 24 km trail with 600 meters of elevation gain and a 14 km trail with 250 meters of elevation gain, alongside an 8 km hike and children's races. The 14 km can be completed solo or as a duo, contributing to the day's flexible, local-club atmosphere rather than a standard mountain race format.
The routes follow single-track paths and forest roads, with a primary loop crossing Saint Romain hill and the Ronze woods. Runners in the 14 km and 24 km events share the initial 7 km and the final 7 km; the longer race incorporates an additional 10 km on trails towards the Aven d'Orgnac site. Aid stations are infrequent, requiring participants to carry sufficient water and food. Entry is limited to 400 participants for the entire event, maintaining its compact nature.
