About this race

The Trail de Nantes à Montaigu is a September trail-running series in western France, following a point-to-point route between Nantes and Montaigu-Vendée. Also known as Trail de la Digue, organizer Les Runners de la Digue provides multiple distances. Public listings show short routes of approximately 15 or 22 km, mid-distance races of about 53 or 54 km, and an ultra covering 103 or 104 km. This variety caters to local trail runners, those new to long distances, and ultra runners, rather than a single competitor type. The route connects Loire-Atlantique and Vendée, crossing country paths, vineyards, villages, riverbanks, water crossings, and private land opened for the event. Runners will follow sections of the Sèvre Nantaise and Maine rivers. The longer course may incorporate historical elements like the Château des Ducs de Bretagne in Nantes. The event also functions as a charity race, with proceeds benefiting the Œuvre des Pupilles des Sapeurs-Pompiers, supporting children and families of French firefighters. Previous years saw around 950 participants, and organizers seek to increase this number across all race formats.
