About this race
Trail de Trévarez begins in Châteauneuf-du-Faou, a village perched on a hill in Finistère, with views of an Aulne river bend. Held on the second weekend of February and put on by Mil'Pat de l'Aulne, it offers several trail race distances: recent formats include around 30 km, 16 km, and 6 km, alongside hiking options. It is part of the Challenge Armor Argoat, attracting participants in the regional trail circuit and local runners seeking a winter race nearby.
The longer course presents the main challenge, featuring approximately 800 metres of elevation gain and a section through the Château de Trévarez park. The middle route includes about 400 metres of ascent and offers views of the château, while the short route follows the commune's paths and trails with a more modest 80 metres of climbing. Races start at the Ar Sterenn complex, and this event marks its eighteenth edition with an updated format. The finish includes a distinctly Breton tradition: volunteers serve soup and cereal bars, and each participant receives crepes and sparkling apple juice.
