About this race
The Trail des 2 Rivières is a trail-running event held in Semur-en-Brionnais, a small hilltop village in Saône-et-Loire, within the Brionnais bocage. Typically taking place in April, it provides several short trail distances: 23 km, 15 km, and 9 km. The 23 km route, named Les Têtus, features 660 m of elevation gain, suited for runners seeking a challenging morning. The 15 km route, Les Bois de La Tour, includes 455 m of climbing, and the 9 km option follows paths around the village.
The courses traverse the countryside near Semur-en-Brionnais, incorporating hedged fields, varied gradients, woodland, a natural tree tunnel, and a pine forest section on the 15 km route. Even the 9 km race offers climbs, descents, and engaging terrain, not just flat running. CAL Charlieu organizes the event, providing on-site refreshments and changing facilities. The race highlights the village's setting and its heritage, with its old stone character and surrounding rural lanes, as much as the running distances themselves.
