Trail des Fours à Chaux

The Trail des Fours à Chaux is a trail running event held in Montjean-sur-Loire, located in the Maine-et-Loire department of western France. It takes place in early summer alongside the Loire River. Three race distances are offered: a 9 km discovery race, a 17 km middle distance, and a 28 km trail. All routes utilize electronic chip timing. The 9 km race can be completed individually or in pairs and is designed to be accessible, whereas the longer races include more challenging terrain and demand greater endurance. The start for all runners is at the Montjean-sur-Loire stadium. The courses incorporate a blend of roads, natural paths, and local trails leading towards the Cap Loire discovery park. Participants will follow the Loire River and ascend paths offering expansive views of the surrounding countryside, featuring undulating sections, steeper climbs, and areas requiring careful pacing. This event is organized by the local municipality, Cap Loire, and Asec Athlétisme, reflecting a strong connection to the river landscape and the lime-kiln history that inspired the event's name.
