About this race
Trail des Potiers is a small forest trail race based in La Chapelle-des-Pots, a commune in Charente-Maritime in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. It offers two nature runs: a 21 km route with roughly 200 to 220 meters of climbing, and a 10 km route with about 100 meters of climbing. The race sits in the January trail calendar, with separate morning starts for the longer and shorter distances.
The courses run through woods and undergrowth around the village, so the ground is more about paths, bumps, and dirt than road speed. La Chapelle-des-Pots has a long pottery-making past, and the race leans into that identity, even using the line that runners will be “shaped by the bumps and molded by the trails.” It draws a modest field rather than a huge crowd, with several hundred participants, and suits runners who want a low-key winter run in the forest.
