About this race
The Trail des Sentiers des Colporteurs is a small trail-running event held in Mazirat, France, situated in the upper Cher valley. Organized by CAP 03, it offers a rustic and technical race day in a natural setting. Three race options begin at the Mazirat campsite: a 24 km course with 900 m of elevation gain, a 16 km course with 600 m, and a 7 km course with 250 m. The two longer races start concurrently in the morning, with the short race commencing shortly thereafter.
The courses traverse narrow, wild paths, providing runners an uncommon opportunity to pass through secluded and private areas of the valley. The event has reverted to an earlier format that proved popular with participants, maintaining a deliberately human scale instead of resembling a large-scale urban event. It is also linked to St Patrick's Day, infusing a festive atmosphere into the challenging runs. The organizer emphasizes that this is a genuine trail race; even the shorter distances include sufficient climbing and rugged terrain to demand sound physical and mental preparedness.
