Trail Des Vosges Saônoises takes place in Fresse, a village in Haute-Saône, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, with races scheduled for mid-April. Organized by the local association L’Abeille Fresse, the event directs participants into the hills surrounding the village, avoiding roads. The schedule features adult trail runs and a children’s race. Past and listed formats have included an 800 m course for children and mountain routes of approximately 11 km, 21 km, and 24 km.
The 11 km Le Lynx course includes 450 m of elevation gain, while the 21 km Le Cerf offers 1,000 m of positive elevation gain. Other listed routes have been 11.5 km with 270 m of climbing and 24 km with 700 m, indicating the specific offerings may vary by edition. The terrain is natural, featuring forests, hills, lakes, and ponds near Fresse. Former professional cyclist Thibaut Pinot has competed here, finishing third and noting it was his first time running a 24 km distance; Baptiste Domanico is also a past winner. A local saying captures the spirit: “Saônoises mais pas sournoises.”
