About this race
Granite hills and steep autumn paths define the Trail du Brame - Monts de Bonnac. This trail race takes place in Bonnac-la-Cote, central France, offering a longer route of approximately 20 to 21 km and a shorter 10 km option. The main race features around 629 metres of elevation gain, presenting a compact yet challenging mountain-footpath effort rather than a flat countryside run.
The course crosses paths within the Monts de Bonnac, a granite section of the Monts d'Ambazac, incorporating older trail routes near Bonnac and Compreignac. A recent 20 km edition saw 288 finishers, with the winner completing the course in 1:28:29, indicating a mix of skilled local runners and general trail enthusiasts tackling the ascents. The longer race begins earlier in the morning, preceding the 10 km, allowing both distances to share the same autumn race-day atmosphere without requiring the same time commitment from all participants.
