Trail du Cap Sizun - Pointe du Raz 2027

The Trail du Cap Sizun - Pointe du Raz takes place at the far western edge of Brittany, starting in Cléden-Cap-Sizun in South Finistère. Organizers state it is France's second most westerly trail. This early-March, early-season event offers several distances: a 5 km discovery run, 15 km, 30 km, and 50 km trail races, and a 15 km Nordic walk. The 50 km route measures just over 51 km with approximately 910 metres of elevation gain, and the 30 km course is just under 30 km with about 669 metres of ascent. The courses follow rocky, natural paths along the Côte d'Iroise, utilizing sections of the GR 34, the former customs officers' path. Participants will traverse coves and headlands, with expansive views of the Celtic Sea, Iroise Sea, and the Atlantic. The 50 km route includes a section near Pointe du Raz, a prominent coastal landmark in Brittany. The terrain alternates between the sea on one side and green, wooded coastal land on the other, giving the race a rugged feel distinct from road running. Conditions can change rapidly, characteristic of the exposed Breton coast, making gear and pacing critical even for shorter distances.
