The Trail du Château d'Écouen is a forest trail race starting from Écouen in Val-d'Oise, north of Paris. The main options are 10 km and 20 km. The 20 km race consists of two loops with approximately 600 metres of climbing, while the 10 km route has about 300 metres of climbing. The event is run in self-sufficiency style; runners must carry their own water and food, as aid stations are not provided.
The loop crosses forest and undergrowth, featuring about 308 metres of elevation gain per lap. A single water point is available at the 10 km mark for those in the 20 km race. The day also features free short races for children: 0.45 km for ages 6 to 8 and 0.8 km for ages 9 and 10. Following the races, a permanent buffet is available to all participants. This is the fourteenth edition of the event.
