About this race
Trail du Dahu is a semi-nocturnal trail event held in Saint-Mars-la-Brière, Sarthe, within France’s Pays de la Loire region. The event begins in the late afternoon with a 9 km walk, transitioning into evening races. These include an 18 km trail race, La course au Dahu, a 9 km race named La course de la sorcière, and a complimentary 1.5 km children’s race. The starting point is the Complexe Sportif des Châtaigniers. Participants require equipment suitable for low light conditions, notably a headlamp.
The 9 km race is accessible to participants aged 16 and older, while the 18 km race is designated for adults. The walk is open to a wider audience but is not recommended for strollers or individuals with limited mobility because of the nature of the terrain. The trail races operate on a self-sufficient basis. The 18 km route features a checkpoint at the 10 km mark, reached after 1 hour and 30 minutes, offering only water. All finishers receive a snack. Runners completing the 9 km and 18 km races are also provided with a pasta box and a drink, with local beer available at the finish line.
