The Trail du Gahûs in Puyoô features a 13-kilometer trail race with 237 meters of elevation gain. An evening version of this race begins at 7:30 p.m. The day's events also include a children's hike, an 8-kilometer adult hike, a daytime 13-kilometer race, and a night cani trail. In the cani trail, each runner competes with a dog over the same 13-kilometer course.
The Trail du Gahûs association organizes the event, attracting local hikers, runners, dog-and-runner teams, and families, not solely competitive trail specialists. Over 500 participants have competed across the various courses, with robust participation in both the daytime and night races. A portion of the proceeds benefits the League Against Cancer, coordinated with Gaëlle Mata, a two-time cancer survivor. During one walking event, a course alteration was necessary after hornets stung several participants; rescue personnel provided prompt treatment, and organizers modified the route to ensure the safe continuation of the races.
