Trail du Miosson takes place in late January in Saint-Benoit, near Poitiers in the Vienne department of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Runners can choose from three distances: 8.8 km with 160 m of elevation gain, 15.6 km with 280 m, or 23 km with 420 m. This race starts the nature-running season for Vienne and Nouvelle-Aquitaine, serving as an early-season test following the holidays.
The courses follow public and private trails through the Miosson valley and the Bois de Saint-Pierre. Winter conditions are expected, meaning the paths may be wet, muddy, and slippery, adding difficulty to the shorter distances beyond their stated metrics. Both licensed and non-licensed runners are welcome. The event also concludes the Au fil du Miosson challenge, which includes Trail des sangliers and Sur la trace des cagouilles.
