The Trail du Mont Saint-Romain is a March trail-running event held in Cortambert, within the Clunisois region of Burgundy. The race centers on Mont Saint-Romain, with routes selected for off-road running rather than road speed. Its primary long-distance option is a 42 km trail race.
The event is in its ninth year and recently shifted from its usual Sunday date to Saturday to avoid a conflict with municipal elections. Interest is high, with over 400 runners registered, including nearly 100 for the 42 km race, setting a new record for that distance. A past edition attracted 530 participants. A distinctive local tradition at the finish line is the offering of soup to runners.
