About this race
Trail du Rouergue is a spring trail-running event held in Morlhon-le-Haut, a village in Aveyron. The race provides three loop courses, with current distances of 12, 24, and 40 km, allowing runners to select a shorter outing or a longer mountain-style effort. The long course covers 40 km with approximately 1,500 m of climbing. The event is in its 24th edition, placing it among established fixtures on the French trail calendar.
The courses are primarily off-road, with about 90% on paths and a significant portion on single-track. The 20 km route offers a sample of the terrain: it goes by the Pont de Périé, descends the "voie romaine," follows the Gorges de la Doulouze, ascends toward the Château des Anglais, and reaches Roc Davy for a broad view without requiring a summit climb. Entries have been limited to 100 runners per race in past editions, maintaining a small field, and an 11 km hike has also been available for those seeking the trails without the competition.
