Trail du Sanglier is a trail race held in late March in Saint-Igny-de-Vers, located in the Haut Beaujolais. The routes traverse meadows, woods, forest, and the hills above the village. Now in its seventh edition, the event previously attracted 1,000 runners. Participants can select from four courses: a 10 km with 327 m of elevation gain, a 14 km with 541 m, a 28 km with 1,271 m, and a 40 km with 1,838 m.
The shorter races remain near the village. The 10 km provides a compact nature-trail experience through fields and woodland, while the 14 km ascends to the nearby heights. The 28 km ventures further into the Haut Beaujolais, passing Mont Saint Rigaud. The 40 km includes Roche d'Ajoux and connects the two summits of the Rhône. A separate event, La Course des Marcassins, is available for children, featuring age-based distances on the auto-cross circuit and a 3.3 km mini-trail with 100 m of climbing for the oldest participants.
