Trail du Trévezel is a late-April trail race held in Trèves, in France's Gard department. Its routes traverse the Cévennes, the Causse Noir, and the Trévezel gorges. Participants can select from a 23 km route with 1,040 m elevation gain, a 16 km route with 640 m, or a 7 km route with 400 m. A children's course is also available. This race is designed for off-road runners seeking steep terrain, forest and valley paths, and a village start, differing from a road-race atmosphere.
The courses loop around Trèves and Lanuéjols, incorporating the rugged Trévezel valley and the Causse Noir limestone plateau. Feedback highlights challenging yet genuine trails, clear course marking, and consistently present, helpful volunteers. The post-race refreshments have featured regional items like Cantal cheese and bread, adding a distinct local character. Families accompanying runners have options too, with a family hike and afternoon activities provided.
