The Trail entre Loire et Vignes takes place at the Savennières stadium in Maine-et-Loire, with a mid-October schedule featuring three trail races and a children’s run. Adult participants can select routes ranging from approximately 11 to 32 kilometers, accommodating local runners seeking a shorter countryside race and those prepared for a longer trail challenge. The longest course involves around 350 meters of elevation gain, while the middle and shorter routes are less demanding with approximately 150 and 80 meters of gain, respectively. The children’s race is free for participants aged 8 to 12 and is limited to 50 entrants. The courses are single-loop trail races winding through the Loire and vineyard landscape surrounding Savennières, a village more recognized for its wine production than large-scale road running events. The 32 km race includes a checkpoint at 16 km; runners reaching this point after two hours are rerouted to the shorter Coteaux course. The event was established by individuals passionate about both running and local heritage, and it maintains a community atmosphere with hundreds of participants in the main races. Each year, the event benefits sick children, and one euro from each entry fee is donated to a Pink October charity. Participants are required to provide their own cup for aid stations.
