Trail Gargomancois 2026

Trail Gargomançois is a trail-running event held in Saint-Maurice-en-Gourgois, located in the Loire department of France’s Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. It typically takes place in late September or early October, offering several off-road races instead of a single distance. The longest race is approximately 31 km with about 1,400 m of elevation gain. Shorter routes are available at 19 km, 12.5 km, 9 km, and 3 km, catering to experienced trail runners, local participants, and families. The courses begin and end in Saint-Maurice-en-Gourgois, utilizing natural and forest paths surrounding the village. The 31 km route ascends to approximately 798 m and features a descent nearly equal to its ascent, marking it as a genuinely hilly trail race, distinct from a flat countryside run. The 12.5 km race is the most popular, having attracted over 200 runners in a past edition, while the 27 km route has seen more than 100 participants. The event also includes children’s and junior races, organized by SSport Nature Gargomançois.
