The Trail Insolite de Ligugé is a nature trail race held in Ligugé, a commune in the Vienne department near Poitiers. Participants can select from 9 km, 17 km, or 25 km races, with an additional 9 km walk option. The 9 km race is designed for wide participation. The longer routes remain true trail races, with the 17 km course featuring approximately 200 metres of elevation gain and the 25 km course around 300 metres. Both longer routes are about 95 percent off-road.
The course winds through Ligugé, incorporating areas not usually accessible to the public, such as private estates and parks. It also passes by local landmarks including a school, the abbey gardens, the Usines Nouvelles, and the vicinity of the football stadium. Smarves et Clain Athlé 86 is the organizing club. The event attracts a significant number of local participants, with over 900 runners registered for the race distances, not including walkers.
